Kirstie Day is a family law specialist accredited by the Queensland Law Society and nationally accredited mediator.

Kirstie undertook a Bachelor of Laws at the Queensland University of Technology before commencing her Articles of Clerkship in a boutique family law firm, Margaret Jones Solicitor.

Kirstie has over 20 years of experience in all aspects of family law, including complex financial and parenting matters.  Kirstie was appointed to and sat on the Queensland Law Society’s Specialist Accreditation Family Law Advisory Committee from 2019 until 2023 and previously sat on the Queensland Law Society’s Family Law Committee.

Kirstie is a qualified collaborative lawyer and member of the Queensland Association of Collaborative Practitioners and is happy to discuss the process of collaborative law.

Kirstie is well known for her pragmatic approach to family law and her desire to achieve outcomes for clients that are timely and cost-effective.  Kirstie is a nationally accredited mediator and enjoys working with parties to reach resolution to avoid protracted and costly litigation.

Kirstie has presented seminars at the Queensland Law Society and was recognized in Brisbane as a “Preeminent Parenting and Children’s Matter Lawyer” and “Leading Family and Divorce Lawyer” in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 by Doyle’s Guide to the Legal Profession.

Kirstie is a strong and passionate supporter of women in the law and particularly enjoys her mentoring relationships with young professionals. Kirstie enjoys spending time with her family and friends and previously sat on the board of one of Brisbane’s leading schools.

With a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Southern Queensland and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law, Jasmin was admitted to legal practice in March 2023 and now joins the Day Family Law team as a Solicitor.

Jasmin has previously led a successful career in public relations with a near decade of experience combining legal training with communications expertise to support firms specialising in the fields of native title law and industrial relations.

More recently, Jasmin served as an Associate in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia for two years and now draws on the valuable experience gained under the mentorship of the Court’s judicial officers to support families through all aspects of family law, including divorce, parenting, property, spousal maintenance, and child support.

Jasmin now practices exclusively in family law and adopts a practical, resolution-focused approach that aims for swift and cost-effective outcomes for clients.
